Velvet Goldmine

In March of 1997, Placebo began a nine week shoot for the Todd Haynes film, Velvet Goldmine. Brian and Steve joined the make believe glam band ' The Flaming Creatures'. Stefan joined 'Polly Small's band AKA Donna Matthews (Elastica). The band joined together to perform T-Rex's '20th Century Boy', which featured on the film, soundtrack and the 'You don't care about us' single.

Since Placebo's cameo appearance in Velvet Goldmine, they have been asked to make films about bands such as Judas Priest. but as Brian says :

'We aren't rent-a-band'
